“I have always been inspired to help people. My father and grandfather were UAW members for over 70 years combined. My grandfather took night school and received his opportunity through a trade program put on by the Louisville Urban League. I am a product of union organizing, and I am a product of the fight for racial and social justice in this country. I’m also the product of American industry and opportunity. Politics is personal for me, it's about making sure my son has the opportunities my grandfather had. To get a good union paying job, to raise a family, to have the right to organize, the right to practice his faith, the right to be human. We need to make our communities better, that’s why we’re doing this. Running for the Democratic National Committee is an extension of that fight.”
